I've just watched the first three films in the Antoine Doinel series by Francois Truffaut and noticed that the Place de Clichy features (albeit briefly) in all of them. Better still is the opening scene of the second film Antoine et Colette, which has a lovely panning shot past the Gaumont Palace as it was in the early 1960s.
